A phone is helpful until the battery dies, the network slows, or you cannot unlock it quickly. For Arbaeen, offline preparation is one of the simplest ways to reduce panic. Prepare both phone backup and paper backup.
Save these on your phone
- Hotel or base address in English and Arabic if available.
- Group leader name and phone number.
- Emergency contact at home.
- Passport photo page and important travel document copies.
- Route screenshots and meeting points.
- Photos of your luggage and bag.
- Arabic phrases for medical help, lost group, bathroom, water, phone charging, and hotel direction.
- Ziyarat Arbaeen text and translation.
Make one paper card
Carry a pen and a paper card in your walking bag. Write your name, country, emergency contact, hotel/base address, group organizer details, allergies, regular medicines, and any major medical condition. If you travel with an elderly parent or child, make one for them too.
Share a group safety image
Create one image with the group name, hotel/base address, meeting point rules, group leader number, and emergency instruction. Send it to everyone before the walk. Ask each person to save it as a favorite image so it is easy to find.
Battery discipline
Keep your phone on low power mode when needed. Do not drain the battery on unnecessary video. Keep one cable accessible and label your power bank. If you separate from your group, battery life becomes safety, not entertainment.
If you get separated
Do not keep walking randomly while calling again and again. Follow the group plan. Go to the agreed pole or landmark, wait for the agreed time, and ask a volunteer for help if needed. A calm plan beats ten panicked phone calls.
