Mawakib are not hotels, restaurants, or paid service counters. They are spaces of khidmah. Volunteers may be tired, hot, sleep-deprived, and still serving with love for Imam Husayn (as). The zaeer should receive that service with humility, not entitlement.

Receive with gratitude

Say thank you. Smile. Make dua for the volunteers. Do not demand a specific food, bed, charger, or comfort level. If a place is full, move gently and find another. Arbaeen teaches us to reduce the ego, not decorate it with religious language.

Take what you need

Do not waste food or water. Take a small portion first. If you need more, ask politely. Keep water use careful, especially around washing areas. Volunteers are serving millions; waste from one person becomes a problem when repeated by thousands.

Keep shared spaces clean

  • Throw rubbish only where it belongs.
  • Leave bathrooms cleaner than you found them if possible.
  • Do not block walking paths with bags.
  • Keep shoes and socks away from eating and sleeping areas.
  • Do not occupy extra sleeping space for your luggage.

Respect families and privacy

Do not film people without permission, especially women, children, sleeping areas, medical areas, or emotional private moments. The ziyarat is not content first. It is amanah first.

Be gentle with volunteers

If something is missing, late, crowded, or not how you expected, be patient. The volunteer in front of you may have been standing for hours. Speak softly. Ask once. Accept the answer. Move on if needed.

Serve even as a guest

You can serve by keeping your area clean, helping an elderly zaeer, sharing charging space, guiding someone to a medical point, or making space in a crowded mawkib. You came as a guest of Imam Husayn (as), but a guest can still carry the manners of a servant.
